Gallier's: A Restaurant Website Built Around the Menu and the Table

Gallier's: A Restaurant Website Built Around the Menu and the Table

Gallier's is a Cajun and Creole seafood and oyster bar on Carondelet Street in New Orleans. We designed and built its WordPress site: a structured nine-section menu, table and private-event request forms, restaurant schema, and a content section that answers the questions visitors ask before they book.

The challenge

A busy downtown restaurant with a menu that does the selling

Gallier's serves breakfast through dinner a block off Canal Street, and a lot of its guests are visitors deciding where to eat while they walk the French Quarter. For them, the website is the menu, the address and the phone number, checked in a few seconds on a phone.

Several kinds of guest, one site

Walk-in diners want the menu and directions. Planned diners want to request a table. Groups want to ask about private dining. The site had to serve all three without burying any of them.

Something the owners could run

Menu prices, dishes and hours change. The build needed to let the restaurant's own team make those edits without a developer for every change.

Our approach

A structured, editable menu instead of a PDF

The menu lives on its own page as real HTML, built with the theme's food-menu parts. It is split into nine sections, from Breakfast and Oysters to Cajun Pastas, Entrees and Wines & Cocktails. Guests can read dishes and prices on a phone, search engines can read them too, and staff can edit them in the WordPress admin.

Direct requests for tables and events

The Reservation and Private Events pages each have a request form built on Contact Form 7. It asks for date, time, party size and contact details, and a honeypot field blocks spam. Tap-to-call phone links and a Google Maps link to 129 Carondelet St repeat across the site, for guests who would rather call or walk over.

WordPress and Elementor on a child theme

We built on the PatioTime restaurant theme, with a child theme for our changes. Pages are laid out in Elementor, so the team can edit content visually. A Slider Revolution hero and an Instagram feed keep the homepage looking current without extra work.

Structured data and a content section

Every page has Restaurant schema: labels that tell search engines the address, map coordinates, opening hours, menu and how to book. Rank Math adds breadcrumbs and XML sitemaps, and there is an llms.txt file for AI tools. A blog of New Orleans food guides answers the questions visitors search for before choosing a place to eat.

Results

What is running today

What shipped

A site with a home page, a full online menu, table-request and private-events pages, story, contact, and a New Orleans guide. It also has four landing pages for oyster, seafood, Cajun and Creole searches, and a blog with over 30 published guides.

What it lets the restaurant do

The team updates dishes, prices and posts themselves. Table and event requests arrive through forms with all the details filled in, not as loose emails. Search engines get the restaurant's hours, location and menu in a form they can read directly.

What happened in Google

We took the site over in August 2025. In the 16 months from June 2025 to October 2026, Google Search Console counts 39,100 clicks and 3.95 million impressions for galliernola.com. The best day so far was 15 March 2026, with 217 clicks and 23,578 impressions, and daily impressions now run at roughly three times the level of August 2025.

Most of it comes from the guides on the site: “boudin” (average position 2.0, 138,578 impressions), “cajun seasoning” (2.0), “what is gumbo” (5.1, 77,592 impressions) and “creole food” (4.5). Searches for the restaurant itself, such as “galliers new orleans”, sit in the top two. Local searches like “best oysters in new orleans” show it on the first page; broader ones like “seafood restaurants new orleans” are still on page two.

Reactll completely transformed our online presence. They understood our brand, our neighborhood, and what makes Gallier's special.
