Gallier's: A Restaurant Website Built Around the Menu and the Table

Gallier's is a Cajun and Creole seafood and oyster bar on Carondelet Street in New Orleans. We designed and built its WordPress site: a structured nine-section menu, table and private-event request forms, restaurant schema, and a content section that answers the questions visitors ask before they book.

The challenge

A busy downtown restaurant with a menu that does the selling

Gallier's serves breakfast through dinner a block off Canal Street, and a lot of its guests are visitors deciding where to eat while they walk the French Quarter. For them, the website is the menu, the address and the phone number, checked in a few seconds on a phone.

Several kinds of guest, one site

Walk-in diners want the menu and directions. Planned diners want to request a table. Groups want to ask about private dining. The site had to serve all three without burying any of them.

Something the owners could run

Menu prices, dishes and hours change. The build needed to let the restaurant's own team make those edits without a developer for every change.

Our approach

A structured, editable menu instead of a PDF

The menu lives on its own page as real HTML, split into nine sections from Breakfast and Oysters to Cajun Pastas, Entrees and Wines & Cocktails, using the theme's food-menu components. Dishes and prices are readable on a phone, indexable by search engines and editable from the WordPress admin.

Direct request flows for tables and events

Dedicated Reservation and Private Events pages carry a request form built on Contact Form 7 with date, time, party size and contact fields, protected by a honeypot. Tap-to-call phone links and a Google Maps link to 129 Carondelet St repeat across the site for guests who would rather call or walk over.

WordPress and Elementor on a child theme

We built on the PatioTime restaurant theme with a child theme for our customizations, and laid pages out in Elementor so the team can edit content visually. A Slider Revolution hero and an Instagram feed keep the homepage looking current without extra work.

Structured data and a content section

Every page carries Restaurant schema with address, geo coordinates, opening hours, menu and a reserve action, alongside Rank Math breadcrumbs, XML sitemaps and an llms.txt file. A blog of New Orleans food guides answers the questions visitors search before choosing a place to eat.

What shipped

A site with a home page, a full online menu, table-request and private-events pages, story, contact, and a New Orleans guide, plus four landing pages for oyster, seafood, Cajun and Creole searches and a blog with over 30 published guides.

What it lets the restaurant do

The team updates dishes, prices and posts themselves. Table and event requests arrive as structured form submissions rather than loose emails, and search engines get the restaurant's hours, location and menu in machine-readable form.

What they said

Reactll completely transformed our online presence. Before working with them, tourists couldn't find us on Google — now we're in the top 3 for almost every seafood keyword in New Orleans. Our online reservations jumped 189% and we're busier than we've ever been. They understood our brand, our neighborhood, and what makes Gallier's special. Best investment we've made in 15 years of business.
