Magic Break: UI/UX Design and a Ticketing Website for a Festival
Magic Break is an electronic music festival held at the Pegasos hotels in Incekum, Antalya. We designed the interface and built a bilingual Laravel website where visitors pick a ticket type and hotel room, pay, and manage their reservations in their own account.

The challenge
A festival sold as a hotel stay
Magic Break takes place across three Pegasos hotels on the Antalya coast, so most tickets include accommodation. A ticket combines a pass type, a hotel and a room type. Each hotel has its own sea-view and land-view rooms, and the rooms hold different numbers of guests.
Several kinds of pass
The client's texts describe a Magic Pass, a Premium Pass with first, second and last phases, a Daily Pass and a Premium Daily Pass. Each one gives access to different things, and visitors had to understand the difference before they chose.
Two languages, one site
Every text the client supplied came in Turkish and English, from page titles to hotel and room descriptions, so the site had to switch languages fully.
Our approach
Design around choosing a ticket
We designed the site in Sketch with a dark, image-led look. The top bar holds the Tickets, Experience, Music and Media menus, a Get Ticket button and login. Below it, visitors can pick guests and a ticket category, so they can start booking from the first screen.
Content sections for the festival
Under Experience the site has Food & Beverage, Activities, Chill Zone and Workshops pages. Under Music it has Line Up and Stages. A Media gallery can be filtered by festival area, stages, artists, activities, accommodation and more. The hotel section introduces the three Pegasos hotels and their rooms.
Booking flow and accounts in Laravel
In Laravel we built ticket group and type selection, checkout, and payment with success and failure pages. We also built sign-up, login, password reset and a My Account area with My Reservations and reservation details. Turkish and English language files hold every page title and label.

Results
What is running today
One site from line-up to checkout
Visitors can read about the festival, its stages and the hotels, then choose a pass and a room and pay in the same place, in Turkish or English.
Reservations visitors can look up
After booking, guests sign in to see their reservations and details instead of relying only on email.
Ready for each new edition
The design showed the line-up for the April 20 to 23, 2024 edition and a "not on sale yet" message for the next year's tickets. So the site can move from one year's festival to the next without a redesign.
More work
Other things we built and run
Cdemly
We designed Cdemly, a clinical AI assistant app for general practitioners, for our client. The work covers the design system, a sitemap of more than 168 screens and detailed screen designs for clinical support, calculators and patient consultation.
EMA Mühendislik
A new website design for EMA Mühendislik, a supplier of process equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, valves and rupture discs. The work ran from an August 2023 design brief through revision rounds to the Turkish translation in early 2024.
RiderSticker
An online shop for custom motorcycle, off-road and bicycle name stickers, based in Istanbul. Built on Laravel and Livewire with a live sticker designer on the homepage, English and Turkish versions, team discount codes, and iyzico card checkout.
