appliedAI: A B2B Marketplace for AI and IoT Solutions

A B2B (business-to-business) platform where AI and IoT (connected devices) solution providers list their products. Businesses find them by technology, business function and industry. We built it in Laravel with vendor registration, product pages, browse-and-search pages and a live feed of new members.

The challenge

Two audiences on one platform

appliedAI had to work for two groups. AI solution providers want to show their products to potential customers. Businesses want an AI solution for their own industry and function. Each side needed its own way in.

A field that is hard to browse

AI products cover many technologies, from machine learning and computer vision to chatbots and RPA (software robots for repetitive tasks). They are sold into every industry. Visitors needed to narrow that down to the few products that fit their problem.

Content that grows by itself

The listings had to come from the vendors. The platform needed registration and product submission so providers could add and update their own products and company pages.

Our approach

Three ways to browse

We sorted the catalogue in three ways: AI technologies, business functions and industries. Each one has its own landing pages. The Discover section combines them in a search with product filters. So a visitor can go from "Manufacturing & Supply Chain" to a specific use case in a couple of clicks.

Vendor accounts and product pages

Providers register for free, create a company profile and add products with a description and the industries each one serves. Each product gets its own page, and new products and new members appear on the homepage.

Built in Laravel

The platform is a Laravel application with login and registration, the category and product pages, a contact page and a newsletter sign-up. It also has schema.org structured data, labels that help search engines read the pages.

Results

What is running today

A catalogue sorted three ways

The archived site from 2022 shows 14 AI technology categories, 8 business functions and 16 industries in the main menu. Each links to its own listing page.

A homepage that shows what is new

The homepage shows use cases by function and separate buttons for solution providers and for businesses. It also has a "Recent Updates" feed of companies that joined, and a "Newly Added Products" section.

Self-service for vendors

Registration was free and open to any AI solution provider. A "Register Your AI Solutions" path on the homepage let vendors add their own products.
